UTC TARGETS 6,372DEPLOYED SYNC…SRC NASA EXOPLANET ARCHIVE

MISSION MANUAL

How it works

Every confirmed exoplanet can be launched once as a token on pump.fun. The first launch registered on chain is the official one, and anyone can check it.

LAUNCH SEQUENCE

  1. 01

    PICK A TARGET

Browse 6,372 confirmed exoplanets. Every value comes from the NASA Exoplanet Archive, and each target page shows the real sky around its star.

  2. 02

    LINK A WALLET

Any Solana wallet. The token's mint key is generated in your browser; your wallet only signs. PLANETPAD never sees a private key.

  3. 03

    CHECK THE LAUNCH

The panel shows what the token will carry (name, ticker, image, description, metadata) and the exact cost from a simulation before you sign.

  4. 04

    LAUNCH

One signature, one transaction: create the token on pump.fun, write the registry memo and pay the 0.01 SOL registry fee. The first launch of a planet is its official token.

WHERE THE SOL GOES

NETWORK + PRIORITY FEE
Solana validators · ~0.0001 SOL, capped
RENT
New token accounts on Solana · ~0.006 SOL
REGISTRY FEE
0.01 SOL to the PLANETPAD registry · makes the launch official
INITIAL BUY
None

Creator fees. Tokens are created with pump.fun's create_v2 and these options, passed explicitly: creator fee 0 bps (no custom rate, so pump.fun's standard creator fee applies), holder rewards off, mayhem mode off, cashback off. The launching wallet is the token's creator: pump.fun's creator fees from trading accrue to its creator vault and are claimed on pump.fun. PLANETPAD takes nothing from trading.

THE REGISTRY

Each launch transaction carries a memo planetpad:exo:v1:<planet>:<mint> and pays 0.01 SOL to the registry address, in the same transaction that creates the token. For each planet the registration with the lowest slot is official; later ones are ignored. The list is read straight from the chain, so you can verify it yourself.

NON-CUSTODIAL

PLANETPAD never holds keys or funds. The mint key is created in your browser and only its public address reaches our server. Our server builds the transaction from public data; your wallet signs it, and we check it was not altered before sending it through our RPC.

FAQ

Do I own the planet?

No. It is a memecoin named after a real exoplanet. Nobody owns celestial bodies, and the token gives no rights to anything.

Can a planet be launched twice?

Anyone can create any token on pump.fun. Only the first launch registered through PLANETPAD, by slot, is the official one: it is the one shown on the planet page and on the launches board.

What if someone launches it while I am signing?

We check the registry again right before sending. If the planet was claimed in the meantime, your transaction is not sent and nothing is spent.

Is there an initial buy or a team allocation?

No. The launch transaction buys nothing, and PLANETPAD holds no tokens. Trading starts on pump.fun's bonding curve.

What does it cost?

About 0.016 SOL in total: network fees and rent for the new token accounts, plus the 0.01 SOL registry fee. The exact figure is simulated and shown before you sign.

Is PLANETPAD affiliated with NASA, the IAU or pump.fun?

No. We use public data from the NASA Exoplanet Archive and the IAU's official names, and pump.fun's public program to create tokens.
